Spanish coast is divided into the northern, southern and central coasts. Nowadays the most popular coasts and provinces are the following ones: Costa del Maresme, Costa del Garraf, Girona, Lerida, Tarragona, Barcelona. Wonderful climate and perfect conditions for family rest and active relaxation are typical for these areas.

Costa del Maresme — north-east part of Catalan coast, located between Costa Brava and Barcelona. Ancient buildings are extant from the Middle Ages and Renaissance times and wonderful Dalmau park give a unique charm to this resort. Costa del Maresme is a coast of fruits, its hillsides are covered with fruit gardens and berry plantations. The resort attracts people by its great opportunities for rest and sports, with its well-developed tourist infrastructure, fine beaches. Devotees of mountain trips especially like this coast.

Costa del Garraf — southern coast of Spain stretching from Barcelona to Cubells. Small picturesque bays formed with mountain chains are wonderful places for rest. The most popular resort is Sitges town, the centre of the coast. It attracts not only tourists but also admirers of painting. This town was a summer residence for Spanish painters: Rosingol, Dali, Casas and Nonel. Narrow streets and ancient town wards are incredibly beautiful and pleasant for walking. You can find anything here: small cosy bars, disco clubs and luxury restaurants. Every year rallies of old cars, a number of carnivals, flower exhibitions, film festivals gather a lot of people here.

Girona — north-east province of Spain. It is a part of autonomous community of Catalonia; Girona is its administrative centre. This province is full of sights. There are: beautiful Cathedral, Monastery of Benedictine order Montserrat hidden in mountain gorge, various museums, a number of monuments (especially on Barry Vale street). Girona is a favorite place of devotees of arts – it is the recognized centre of music and theatre of Spain.

Lerida — another province on the north-east of Spain with centre in Lerida, it is also a part of autonomous community of Catalonia. Lerida town is full of history and sights. There are monuments of primitive society times, museums of Gothic and Roman culture, Baroque style and modern art. There are more than 600 km of pure lakes and mountain rivers that provide a great opportunity of fishing as well as training for all comers.

Tarragona — one of the northern Spanish provinces, it is ancient capital of Catalonia. This is the most famous historical and cultural centre of Spain. There are plenty of monuments of Roman history: coastal hill (Mediterranean balcony) gives a view of ruins of Roman amphitheatre. If you walk down you will see a 10 metre high and 4-km-long stone wall that was built to protect the town in the III century B.C. Roman circus has also remained (I century B.C.) Furthermore Tarragona gives an opportunity to take part in annual bright and fun carnivals and festivals.

Barcelona is located on the coast of Mediterranean sea. It is a capital of autonomous province of Catalonia and the second largest city of Spain. Barcelona has a lot of sights: musical fountains on the square of Spain will amaze you with their beauty. You can meet street artists on Rambla street. They amaze tourists with their stunning performances. You can visit wonderful castles of Gothic area and Square of the King – one of the most beautiful squares in the world that allows you to admire lanterns of Gaudi. There are a plenty of interesting and unforgettable places in Barcelona.
